This Friday: join former San Luis Obispo Mayor Heidi Harmon and the rest of the Let’s Green CA! team for a “Don’t Look Up” Watch Party!

WHAT: “Don’t Look Up” Watch Party

WHEN: Friday, January 7th, 6 p.m. PT

WHERE: Your computer, tablet or laptop

The “Don’t Look Up” storyline is pretty familiar to those of us in the climate space: scientists discover that the fate of the Earth and the life it hosts is in imminent danger—and political leaders refuse to listen. Many of us have spent years doing what feels like screaming at our leaders to protect people and the planet. Now, some of the biggest movie stars on Earth are screaming with us. That feels like progress. Here’s what you need to do to join Let’s Green CA’s “Don’t Look Up” watch party this Friday:

Step One: Download the Google Chrome browser (If you already have Chrome downloaded on the device you’ll use to stream the film, skip to step two)

Step Two: Now, open Google Chrome and install the Teleparty browser extension by following this link.

  • Click “Install Teleparty”
  • Click “Add to Chrome”
  • You’ll be asked to confirm that you’d like to add the “Netflix Party is now Teleparty” extension to your Chrome browser—click “add extension.”
  • Next, you’ll be directed to take three steps (see image below) to get started on Teleparty: pin the browser extension to your Google Chrome toolbar, grant permission to the app, and select your streaming platform (Netflix).

Step Three: Confirm you’ll join us! Please email info@greencal.org if you plan to join us on Friday.

This Friday, folks who have RSVP’d will receive a follow-up email from Let’s Green CA! with two links: 1) the link to our “Don’t Look Up” teleparty and 2) a link to a Zoom meeting with Let’s Green CA!’s tech wizard, Noel Rabinowitz, which will be open from 3:30 – 5 p.m. PT for those who have tech questions.
