Los Angeles joined Seattle in divesting their city from fossil fuels. After 9 months of activism and advocacy through Divest LA, City Council disqualified Wells Fargo from the city’s commercial banking services AND approved a 30-point social responsibility scoring system as part of their banking services contract. Just days later, New Yrk Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer released two separate plans to divest state and city pension plans from coal, oil, and gas companies.

In particularly big news, French parliament voted to ban all production of oil and gas by 2040!! President Emmanuel Macron has stated that he wants France to move away from fossil fuels and lead the charge in renewables. While this is amazing, France remains 99% dependent on fossil fuels…there is still work to be done
